In the past it was common for men in the Navy to brandish their skin with tattoos signifying their service and dedication to the Navy and to one another. However, as time has evolved it is no longer a common trend for Navy servicemen to brand their bodies with tattoos as a sign of their service. Still, there are many Navy men who still keep this trend going today.
There is one medal that all Navy SEALs will acquire during their years of service. This medal is commonly referred to as the “SEAL Trident.” However, it is also known as the Special Warfare Insignia or “The Budweiser”. This medal is a sign that the person who wears it has successfully passed the Navy’s Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training.
