Eric Bana is the latest actor to cast in Peter Berg’s ‘Lone Survivor’ film, according to Heat Vision report.

Bana will be play a SEAL lieutenant, joining Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch and Ben Foster as other members of the Navy SEAL team.

Berg began developing ‘Lone Survivor’ five years ago, following Universal’s acquisition of the book and life rights for $2 million dollar. He wrote the screenplay and will be producing the film alongside Sarah Aubrey and Akiva Goldsman.

‘Lone Survivor’ is an action-drama film adaptation of Marcus Luttrell’s book of the same title. It recounts how in 2005, Luttrell and three other U.S. Navy SEALS left their base in northern Afghanistan for the mountainous Pakistani border to capture or kill a notorious al Qaeda leader. They came across an old man and three boys, and while knowing that it could jeopardize their lives, the commandos let the group pass. The act of mercy backfired, and soon the team was under attack by a small Taliban army. Luttrell was the sole survivor of Operation Red Wings.

Film production of ‘Lone Survivor’ is set to begin next month in New Mexico.
