Country star Tim McGraw is giving away something very important to Wounded Warriors: mortgage-free homes.
McGraw is giving away one house for each stop during his upcoming “Brothers of the Sun” tour with Kenny Chesney to wounded Veterans or needy service members, for a total of 25 houses in all, as a generous way of saluting injured Veterans and service members.
The tour and campaign will be kicked off with a Memorial Day concert for service members at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, during Fleet Week.
It is not entirely unthinkable for McGraw to be as generous as he is to service members, as he has his own personal experience with America’s warriors. He shared: “My sister’s a veteran, my uncle’s a veteran, my grandfather was a veteran, one of my best friends is a veteran… I’ve known people my whole life who are in service to America. And I think in my position to be able to do something like that is probably the ultimate thing. So to be able to go on tour and provide sort of a stable foundation for a veteran and their family is something I really look forward to.”
The country star is working with the charity Operation Homefront and Chase, with contributions from the Academy of Country Music’s ACM Lifting Lives program and The Premier Group on behalf of the North Carolina Furniture Manufacturers.”
The “Brothers of the Sun” Tour kicks off in Tampa, Florida, on June 2.
