Country music superstar Keith Urban will lend his voice to the Navy SEAL movie Act of Valor, as Relativity Media announced that he cut a track for the movie.
The original song, entitled “For You,” will play over the end credits of the movie. The much-anticipated Act of Valor has been receiving a lot of hype, due to the fact that it does away with big-name Hollywood stars to carry the movie, and cast real Navy SEALs to play the roles that only they could certainly do justice to: that of Navy SEALs carrying out a mission.
This is the first time that the country music star is collaborating on behalf of a movie. Urban, the husband of Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman, has expressed that he preferred to keep his personal and professional lives separate – unless the project was worth it.
Act of Valor, it seems, is a movie that was worth setting that preference aside. Urban shared: “After seeing Act Of Valor, my co-writer (Monty Powell) and I wanted to capture the essence of not only what these men and women do so extraordinarily, but how that relates to all of us… Valor shows us what they are willing to give their all for, which made me wonder, ‘What am I willing to give my life for?’ ‘For You’ is intended to allow the listener to define who that is for them.”
Act of Valor is scheduled for release on February 24. The movie soundtrack, featuring Keith Urban’s “For You,” will be available digitally through iTunes as well as physically in music retail stores on February 21.
