On Tuesday, April 5, Dallas/Fort Worth will be welcoming the Navy through the celebration of Navy Week. Navy Week Dallas/Fort Worth will last from April 5 to 17, and is being celebrated in conjunction with the Fort Worth Air Power Expo.
Serving as leading spokespeople for the event are Adm. Patrick Walsh, Commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet; Rear Adm. Ken Carodine, Deputy Commander of the Navy Warfare Development Command; Rear Adm. John “Cris” Sadler, Commander of the Naval Air Forces Reserve, Deputy Commander of the Naval Air Forces, and Deputy Commander of the Naval Air Forces U.S. Pacific Fleet; and Rear Adm. Richard Vinci, Deputy Chief, Logistics and Installations, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery.
The Navy shared the activities lined up for Navy Week Dallas/Fort Worth, which will be kicked off April 5th via the proclamation of Navy Week by Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief, scheduled for 7 pm, at the Fort Worth City Council Meeting.
On Wednesday, April 6, Rear Adm. Karen Flaherty will speak at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, before heading off to another proclamation event, this time to be held at the Dallas City Hall Plaza at noon.
At 2 pm Wednesday, Rear Adm. Flaherty is slated to meet with employees of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. She will be talking about the developments in breast cancer research and treatment in the Navy.
The following day, Rear Adm. Flaherty will meet with leaders, as well as patients, of the Dallas Veterans’ Medical Center.
The NAS Fort Worth JRB Air Power Expo is scheduled for April 16-17.
