And the freebies keep on coming!
In a previous post, we shared that Yellowstone National Park – as well as other National Parks – will be open free of charge to everyone – service members, vets and civilians – on Veterans’ Day. The Navy Times shares more freebies that can be enjoyed on Veterans’ Day, this time, however, limited only to active duty and reserve service members, as well as veterans.
Free meals at Applebee’s. Service members and veterans get to enjoy free meals at local Applebee’s restaurants in their area, from 11 am until midnight on November 11. The menu on Veterans’ Day will feature the following: 7-ounce House Sirloin, Bacon Cheeseburger, Three Cheese Chicken Penne, Chicken Tenders Platter, Oriental Chicken Salad, Fiesta Lime Chicken and Double Crunch Shrimp.
Those who would like to avail of the free meal should arrive at an Applebee’s location in uniform, or provide any of the following proofs of military service: an active duty or retiree card, a current leave and earnings statement, a DD214 discharge certificate, a photo in uniform, or a veterans organization card, such as an American Legion or Veterans of Foreign Wars card.
“Veterans Day at Applebee’s is a time for our military to connect with fellow service men and women, swap stories and enjoy a great meal,” Applebee’s president Mike Archer said in a statement.
Free movie screenings in D.C. There will be a free screening of the 1957 movie The Bridge on the River Kwai, for current and former service members, at 7 p.m. at the Burke Theater in Washington D.C. The free showing is presented by the Army and Air Force Exchange, USO, and Sony Pictures. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis; reserve a spot by RSVP-ing to SPHE@ByDeluxe.com.
