How to Have a Safe Halloween Holiday, from NAVSAFECEN

Posted October 29th, 2010 by USNavySeals

The holiday season will be kicking off once again, starting with Halloween, and the Naval Safety Center (NAVSAFECEN) is reminding Sailors and their families to pay attention to safety while having fun during the holiday.

Happy HalloweenDave Kerrick, head of NAVSAFECEN Motor Vehicle and Off-Duty Recreation Division, shared the following road safety tips, for safe Trick-or-Treating: “Drivers should pay special attention on the roads and drive a little slower… Kids are unpredictable, and may dart out from between parked cars or rush across streets without warning. Be prepared for them.”

Kerrick also reminds parents to prepare their kids for trick-or-treating, and ensure that an adult is on hand to supervise younger children at all times. Adults who are heading off to Halloween parties are reminded to keep their alcohol consumption in check, and if they were to drink, to ensure that they are able to arrange a safe ride home.
