Support Rallies for Accused Navy SEALs

Posted January 20th, 2010 by USNavySeals

Citizens came together in various locations in the country to express their support for the three Navy SEALs who were accused of assault.

Despite the moving of the trial of Navy SEAL Matthew McCabe from January 19 to May 3, scheduled support rallies pushed through in Norfolk and Perrysburg. Rallies were also planned for Coronado and Albuquerque.

Honk for US Navy SEALsIn Norfolk, supporters of Navy SEALs Matthew McCabe, Julio Huertas and Jonathan Keefe gathered outside Gate 5 of the Norfolk Naval Station on Hampton Blvd. A feature on hamptonroads.com shared how supporter Susan Lindsey held up a sign that read “Honk for SEALs troops”.

Passing motorists acknowledged the estimated 50 people who participated in the rally by honking. Lindsey, a resident of Norfolk, was quoted in the article: “I think it’s pretty much a travesty. Our military, our government and everyone is sending a bad message, to say the least, to the young men and women who are thinking about enlisting in the military.”

Former Navy SEAL Scott Taylor, who is reportedly seeking the Republican nomination to challenge Rep. Glenn Nye, called the court-martial of the Navy SEALs as a “complete overreaction” and said: “As a former SEAL, what’s killing me is seeing political correctness infused at the battlefield level. You know, these guys should be commended for what they did.”

The SEALs are charged with assaulting terror suspect Ahmed Hashim Abed, who is the suspect behind the killing of four Blackwater contractors in Fallujah, Iraq, in 2004.

This is pure unadulterated garbage! If the jerk can still perambulate it is too good. When our military leaders don’t support their troops and protect them from this travesty then there is no more trust, and frankly after the past year or so I don’t know if I trust anyone from the top down the tier for six rankings.
I’m tired of hearing about our losses and I’m tired of witnessing things such as this and of getting our asses whipped because we have such a sense of “collateral” damage, phooey, what about the european cities and towns during WWII.
Political correctness is ok but not at the expense of our honor and since Mogadishu our willingness to win, again from the top down, has been in question.
We seem very intent on fighting endless street wars without actually getting in there and doing some serious damage. Heck, they are willing to fill a car up with explosives and blow up their own civilians. Let’s put an end to this!
