There are many specific questions that many Navy SEAL candidates ask themselves in regards to their physical build and health concerns. These candidates ponder whether or not they will be eligible to become a Navy SEAL based on these situations and circumstances. Below are some common questions and answers based on these physical requirements:
Q: I have dental fillings and cavities. Am I still eligible to become a Navy SEAL?
A: Generally speaking, if you have a few dental fillings and cavities you can still be eligible to become a Navy SEAL. However, your teeth will be inspected during a screening with the Navy and they will inform you what you need to due in order to correct any dental issues that may effect your eligibility.
Q: While in school or in my youth I experienced various injuries and have had broken bones. Am I still eligible to become a Navy SEAL?
A: When it concerns your past medical history you will have to refer directly to the Navy during your physical screening test. Most injuries that are not on-going which you experienced in your youth will not effect your eligibility. However, your physical screening conducted by the Navy will decide your fate.
Q: I have had various eye problems in the past and don’t have perfect vision, I understand that near perfect vision is needed for the SEALs. Am I still eligible?
A: The answer to this can not be given until you have undergone an eye-exam by the Navy. Only then will you know for sure whether you are eligible or not.
