Posted October 12th, 2009 by USNavySeals

The US Navy SEALs in Iraq mission-operations began in March 20, 2003. This was the time when US President George Bush instructed the troop to invade Iraq. The mission was then called Operation Iraqi Freedom.

With the rigid training that each member of the Navy SEAL underwent, it was easier for them to fight against the Iraqi’s. Soldiers were asked to swim at least 50 meters underwater. Aside from this, there are other routines thought to be impossible for any ordinary individual to surpass.

This US Navy SEAL training was said to be the edge of the group over the Iraqi Forces. With 250 members enlisted in the Operation Iraqi Freedom troop though, it was still necessary to ask help from UK army and air forces. The number of US Navy SEALs deployed during the operations were said to be the largest deployment from the troop ever since the Vietnam War ended. Completing the group are 500 special warfare people from the navy.
