While the M60 machine gun itself is still used by all branches of the US military, Navy SEALs will take advantage of two special types of the M60 for their purposes. The M60E3 is a lightweight version of this firearm and the MK43 Mod 0 is a type that was developed specially for Navy SEALs in the 1990s. The MK43 Mod 0 is special because it was developed to have a shorter assault barrel than the
regular M60E3 and thus be more effective.
The M60E3 itself will be the most powerful when it is used mounted on a tripod, although experienced SEALs will be able to use it from the shoulder. The most skilled users of this gun should be able to accurately hit their targets at ranges of up to 1,500 meters with the M60E3. This particular model of the M60 was first developed by the SEALs in the 1980s and is popular because it is easy to carry and light, especially for the caliber it carries.
When using the MK43 Mod 0 rifle, Navy SEALs will have all of the function of the M60E3 and have a shorter weapon to boot. This can give SEALs an easier time of transporting this weapon and should help them with using it as a powerful attack. This machine gun weighs 23.1 pounds and has a length of 42 inches. For the 7.62 caliber of this weapon, however, this gun will pack quite a powerful punch in a rather small package. The SEAL squad using this weapon will be sure to hit their targets fast and hard.
