Navy SEAL Physical Training Advice

push-upsWhen preparing for BUD/S Training many hopefuls begin to exercise non-stop.  Many of them will discover rigorous work-out programs online and will immediately begin to prepare themselves physically for their Navy SEAL training.  However, many of these hopeful Navy SEAL candidates will make some very crucial mistakes during this pre BUD/S Training preparation.

First and foremost, you should avoid if possible the use of supplements and protein shakes.  The idea behind your physical preparation is not only to build a healthy body in the form of muscles and endurance, but it also to create a general healthy lifestyle.  Instead of relying on supplements and shakes, you should consider implementing a healthy diet and begin eating properly.  You should also consider removing all tobacco use and alcohol use from your lifestyle.

The second major mistake that Navy SEAL candidates make is replacing quality for speed.  When it comes to working out and doing push-ups and sit-ups, you want to make sure that you are doing them properly.  You never want to attempt to do them faster, but neglect to do them properly.

However, many Navy SEAL candidates fail to understand this logic and believe that their Instructors will only want them to be able to do these things fast.   It is true that you will at times have to do these types of exercises under the gun of the clock, however, if you are not doing them properly this could be far worse, and your Instructors will instantly be able to note that you are doing them wrong.
