Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 is the best selling novel of Marcus Lutrell and co-writer Patrick Robinson. This intriguing book is a first hand account of what Marcus Lutrell experienced and endured while taking part in Operation Redwing, which resulted in the deaths of his fellow SEALs.
This real-life account chronicles the Redwing mission in June 2005 where Lutrell and other SEALs were supposed to capture or kill a Taliban leader. During their mission they encountered two men and a young kid who spotted them. Lutrell and his men had to decide if they should kill these men so that they couldn’t warn the Taliban that they were there, or if they should let them pass by.
Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account Of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of Seal Team 10 is a true story of humanity and the decisions which soldiers must make while they are in the line of duty. In one section Lutrell makes this startling and true remark: “any government that thinks war is somehow fair and subject to rules like a baseball game probably should not get into one. Because nothing’s fair in war, and occasionally the wrong people do get killed.” In fact, this is the most quoted section of his novel which has received International acclaim.
This novel is a story of hope and a story of overcoming the odds and how Marcus Lutrell become the Lone Survivor of Operation Redwing. If you have not checked out this book yet you should rush to your local bookstore and purchase it today.

I am currently reading this book, it’s awesome thus far.
From Luttrell’s background, training and upbringing there was no question he was destined to be a SEAL.

LONE SURVIVOR is the most exciting, awesome book I have ever read. Marcus Luttrell is a TRUE American Hero. Shame on the Liberal Mainstream Media for essentially ignoring his heroic story!

I recently completed readig The Lone Survivor. This is a tribute, not only to the three fallen heroes of the illfated day on the Hindu Kush Mts., it is also a tribute to all Navy Seals and Army Special Forces who serve our country so heroically, bravely, and with the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you,Marcus for writing this account of your Seal experiences, from your brutal and torturous Seal training to the final memorial services of Mruphy, Axelson, and Deitz. You will laugh at the Seal’s tough sense of humor and you will most certainly cry, along with Marcus, as he remembers all those who attempted and actually resuced him. This book also enlightened me about the culture of the Afghani mountain tribes, with their sacred honor for them to protect Marcus from the Taliban. And in the end, protectted him and helped him in his rescue and return home to his family who refused to believe he was dead. This book tells of the heroes the news media never reports on. A must read for patriots.
