When it comes to Navy SEAL methods of travel, there are a variety of sea, air, and land vehicles that they are known to use. Some of the most fascinating and technologically advanced vehicles are the many sea based vehicles that Navy SEALs are known to use. Apart from the SEAL Delivery Vehicle the following sea vehicles are also used: the SOC-R, the RHIB, the CRRC, and the MK V.
The MK V is a Special Operations Craft (SOC). It is also considered to be one of the most powerful and versatile sea vehicles that Navy SEALs are known to use. The MK V is generally used in areas considered to be low or medium in threat levels. The MK V is highly functional and can be released from shore or even from another ship.
A RHIB is also known as an 11 meter Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat. These boats are very durable and are built to withstand all types of weather. They are also built large in size and can fit an entire SEAL Team. These boats are used to transport tactical teams to and from boats and the shore.
SOC-R’s are also known as Special Operations Craft Riverine. These boats are specifically designed to be used in rivers. They are built to handle a great deal of weight, including the men they are transporting and any cargo that may be stored. These boats can be transported via ship or by helicopters.
The CRRC is also known as a Combat Rubber Raiding Craft. This 15 foot craft is first seen by Navy SEALs when they attend BUD/S Training, where they will have to hold this boat over their heads. This durable boat has many duties and is used a great deal by the United States Navy SEALs.
