In the past it was common for men in the Navy to brandish their skin with tattoos signifying their service and dedication to the Navy and to one another. However, as time has evolved it is no longer a common trend for Navy servicemen to brand their bodies with tattoos as a sign of their service. Still, there are many Navy men who still keep this trend going today.
Many people are interested in knowing if Navy SEALs get tattoos signifying that that they are a Navy SEAL. For example, getting the SEAL Trident tattooed on their skin. The fact of the matter is that there is no official regulations governing whether or not a Navy SEAL is permitted to get such tattoos. However, most Navy SEALs do not get these types of tattoos while they are serving as a Navy SEAL.
This is due to the fact that during Navy SEALs missions they do not wear any insignia which shows that they are a Navy SEAL. They don’t wear any pins, patches, carry identification, or anything else that could relate them to the Navy SEALs. This is due to the secrecy of their missions and for their own safety.
However, many SEALs will acquire such tattoos after their service has ended. However, the majority of them get these tattoos in hard to see areas as not to make a spectacle out of their service. It should also be noted that just because someone has a Navy SEAL related tattoo does not mean that they themselves are a Navy SEAL. Many parents will acquire Navy SEAL tattoos in honor of their sons or family members who served as SEALs.
