    Hello,
I have been interested in the Navy Seals for a few years now. I’m currently 19 and in college. I’m in fairly good shape (plan on increased exercise before training) but was never in sports or have had any kind of fighting experience. I want to serve my country but I want the best training and want what’s going to push me harder than I’ve ever been pushed. Would joining the Seals be the right choice for me? Should I consider the marines or army first before Seals? I also wanted to know how you obtain certain jobs, such as Scout Sniper? In general, what should I expect from the job? I know Seals have quite the reputation, but how does it feel to be a Seal and how much did training change you as a person? Thank you very much for your time

My God Father claims to have been a USNavy SEAL.

He does not wear any underwear and he tells me NO SELF RESPECTING frogman wears any underwear.

Is he full of baloney, or is this true? Why?

He mentioned something about a skivie (sp) check ? whatever.

I am a fiction writer, and am working on a novel which has an ed-Navy SEAL as the protagonist. Eventually, I will want a SEAL to look at what I’ve written, before I send it off to an agent.

Can someone help me with this?

Hi, i’m currently in the Navy and undecided whether or not I want to stay in or get out and the only option to stay in is if i can get orders to a seal team as a spec ops rigger and before i do it i just wanted to see if i could get any information on what kind of roll a “pr” takes in the teams. thank you

  10. Linda

I am wondering at what age do Navy Seals typically retire. Also, how difficult is it for Navy Seals to maintain marriages? Is there a high divorce rate?

  11. Frank

Does a failed depth perception at MEPS disqualify me from a SEAL or Diver challenge contract ?

  12. michael

#9 elizabeth, semper fi is short for semper fidelis and is more of a marine corp thing it means always faithful in latin i.e. always faithful to our country, the corp, and our marine brothers

  13. michael

o yeah im not a seal just answered the semper fi question

In the final part of Seal Cold Weather Training, how does a person dry their clothes after spending several minutes in the water without a dry suit? Do you build a fire or use chemical packs or just try to get warm through physical exertion or what?

Hello, and thank you for serving our nation. I’m 19 years old, and since I was 8, I wanted to be a Navy SEAL. But not until I was 16 did I find out that women aren’t allowed in the SEALS. I was absolutely crushed, and so I researched the reasons why women aren’t allowed. I find it interesting that a repeated reason is the fact that women get their period. There is birth control that will take care of that, and when a woman’s body fat is less than 10 percent, she stops having her period at all. I also find it fascinating when people site that women are physically inferior to men both mentally and physically. I also know that women are not allowed in combat, but I have yet to find a reason that is based on any empirical evidence. The way I see it is that women should at least be allowed to TRY to make it, but be tested at the same standards that are expected of the men. If the SEALS are as selective and elite as they seem to be, then wouldn’t any unqualified men AND women be prevented from causing any risks in the cohesion of the unit, and therefore weeded out of the process all together?

How can I find out if the man claiming to be a NAVY SEAL who is dating my sister was/is actually a SEAL? I do not trust this man, and I want to call him on his bluff….

I’m 15 and am in a really good shape. I’m able to do 100 pushups 100 situps and 25 chinups with no problem. I train daily and I would like to know how hard should I train to prepare myself for BUD/s. Also I have heard that in order to become a Navy Seal you have to pass an ASVAB test, how do I prepare for it?

    Thank you for your time,
I hope that my questions are good enough to be answered.
