All branches of the United States Military have very specific uniforms which they require their service men and women to wear. When it comes to the United States Navy SEALs there are three distinct types of uniforms which they are issued:
- Dress Uniform
- Service Uniform
- Working Uniform
Dress uniforms worn by Navy SEALs contain three main varieties: Service Dress, Full Dress, and Dinner Dress. Each of these uniforms plays a different role.
For example Service uniforms are worn in public and official functions along with being worn when traveling on official business. There are summer and winter variations of this uniform.
Full Dress uniforms are generally worn during ceremonies and special events. This includes but is not limited to: funerals, memorials, ceremonies, weddings, and retirements.
Service uniforms also feature a variety of dress types for Navy SEALs. This includes: service khaki, winter blue, summer and tropical whites, and the new service uniform.
With Working uniforms these feature a variety of clothing. Such pieces include: winter working blues, working khaki, utilities, coveralls, tropical working uniforms, aviation working greens, and the NWU also known as Navy Working Uniforms.
There is a military issued uniform for every occasion and for every branch of the military. Navy SEALs receive typical Navy issued uniforms but also have special uniforms that they wear during missions.
Many Navy SEALs do not stand out in uniform alone. You would have to view the medals and bars on their uniform to learn that they are a Navy SEAL.
